On June 30, 1998, Chinatelecom Information Development Co., Ltd was founded and registered at the State Administration for Industry and Commerce, and was approved to be a high-tech enterprise by Beijing New Technology Development Experiment Zone on July 16, 1998.

April 30, 2002 ? Subject to management of Beijing Telecom
On April 30, 2002, China Telecom determines to transfer CTID to Beijing Telecom as a whole organism. 

In March 2003, CTID established cooperation relation with China Mobile, and is allowed to use the number 9168, a short message service code, and operate value-added mobile services within the whole network.

On October 12, 2003, CTID moves from Henderson Centre, 18 Jianguomen Neidajie, Dongcheng District, Beijing to A12 Xinjiekou Waidajie, Xicheng District, Beijing, post code 100088.

On December 19, 2003, CTID held the Working Conference 2004, proposing the working policy for 2004 of “promote management, strengthen execution, enhance cooperation, and encourage creativity”.

On February 19, 2004, Beijing Chinatelecom Maintenance Co., Ltd, jointly invested by CTID and Beijing Telecom under China Telecom, was officially registered and founded.

From December 16 to 17 of 2004, CTID held the Working Conference 2005 at the International Conference Centre of Foreign Languages Teaching and Research Press, and the conference theme was “spread general budget, enhance performance management, and realize overall development of the company”

In November 2005, CTID was solely authorized by China Telecom to operate cross-region mobile information services within the country as an agent of China Telecom

1.Chengdu Branch was registered at Gaoxin District Sub-Bureau of Chengdu City Administration for Industry and Commerce in Sichuan Province on November 24, 2005.

2.Shenyang Branch was registered at Shenyang City Administration for Industry and Commerce in Liaoning Province on November 24, 2005.

3.Xi’an Branch was registered at Shaanxi Provincial Administration for Industry and Commerce on November 24, 2005.

Changsha Branch was registered at Changsha City Administration for Industry and Commerce in Hunan Province on December 5, 2005.

CTID Working Conference 2006 was held at Beijing Jinyuan Xiangshan Mountain Commerce & Travel Centre Hotel from December 14 to 16 of 2005. The conference comprehensively summarized the work in 2005, and definitely proposed 2006-2008 Three-Year Leap Plan and key tasks for 2006. At the conference, the performance contracts for 2006 were signed and excellent staff for 2005 were rewarded.
